Rec Center spans the physical and the digital. We would like to acknowledge that Rec Center was created from the unceded lands of the Tongva, Kizh, Gabrieleño, and Chumash Nations, both past and present. We also honor the vast unceded lands occupied by the physical infrastructures that undergird our access to digital community.

We’re here to find kinder ways of surviving and thriving under the conditions of Late-Stage Capitalism, whose stage was set by theft and exploitation of Black and Indigenous peoples’ resources, worldwide.

We hold that reality in this space, while also tenderly holding hands and fiercely kindling hope that we can co-create a reality of care, safety, empathy, sustainability, and interdependence.
